If your busy planning your next trip to the Fleurieu Peninsula, we are here to convince you as to why it's a good idea to visit. Here is our Ultimate guide to all the best spots along this coastline.

One of the most Stunning coastlines we have come across on our journey so far! From large scaled cliffs to white sandy beaches that you can drive on to crystal clear Blue water to take a dip in, this place was ticking all of our boxes and we were able to enjoy it twice on this Lap of Australia.

Below are the places that we took the time to visit/stay and explore and would love to share it with you.

Christies Beach

We chose to stay in the Caravan park in Christie's Beach (Christies Beach Tourist Park) as it was right on the beach overlooking the water. We try not to splash out on Caravan Parks however the one thing that you will notice on the Fleurieu Peninsula is that there are no free camps for you to pull up in.

This caravan park was $40 per night for a powered site on water front in non Peak season so we decided to stay 2 nights.

The moment we pulled up and Parked the van we pretty much ran straight to the beach! It was a hot day with no wind and the water was like glass! That afternoon we had one of the most epic sunsets we have witnessed since being in South Australia.

We spent the 2 days here exploring around the area and soaking up the sun on the beach.

Aldinga Beach/Sellicks Beach

Once again we had to stay in a caravan Park to explore this area, but we really didn’t mind as we were enjoying having some of our creature comforts with having a powered site.

The caravan Park we stayed at was Aldinga Beach Holiday Park and the first time around we paid $32 per night for powered and the second time around we paid $28 per night for Unpowered.

The first day here we drove straight to the amazing Sellicks Beach so we could Take the D-max on some sand as we had been told you can drive down on the beach. When we got there we were shocked to see even every day Hatch back cars down on the beach the sand is that firm. Once we finally got down the beach it was just as stunning, even more so than the last beach we stayed at. Large Sandstone Cliffs and clear blue water made for some pretty amazing pictures.

It's the perfect spot to watch the sunset, cook up a feast on the beach and soak it all in.

Port Willunga

While we were staying at Aldinga I had planned for us to check out Port Willunga as I had seen so many amazing pictures of the caves cut into the white Grecian style cliffs flooding my feed. We went on a weekday which was perfect as there was literally no one around! We had perfect weather, calm ocean that looked like glass so much you couldn’t tell where the horizon started with the ocean. Dolphins were swimming just out from where we stood and the sky didn’t have a cloud in it! PERFECT!!!

We must of had some sort of luck because the second time around just recently we jagged the exact same weather and it was just as amazing. When you come down the stairs turn left and you will see all the caves cut into the cliffs, they make for a perfect picnic area to watch the sunset in the afternoon right over the water.

Maslin Beach/Gull Rock

This was our first time visiting this beach and Rock the second time around as we didn’t know about it the first time. I wasn’t sure what the weather was going to be like but had planned a sunrise mission from where we were staying at Aldinga Beach. I believe it is roughly 8 minute drive from Aldinga Beach and you just need to pop in the GPS - Blanche Point which is where these amazing cliffs are.

When you get there you come to a carpark and walk around to the lookout, there you will see an area where you can walk to the edge of the cliffs and lookout to the amazing Gull Rock!

The rock had what looked like penguins on It but Kurt wasn't convinced, when we went it made for the perfect spot to sit and watch them from afar.

I jagged the sunrise on this occasion to, even though we got there a little too early as it was still Dark when we pulled up and the sun doesn’t come over the mountains for a while once first light hits but it was a pretty special moment when it did.

Rapid Bay

We had always heard that Rapid Bay was an amazing little town right on a bay where everyone catches squid right off the jetty. The first time we arrived to Rapid bay it was not the best weather, we had strong winds, rain and very cloudy conditions so it made it hard for us to see why everyone loved it.

When you stay at Rapid Bay you have to book before turning up, which you can do by texting or calling the Number on Wiki Camps. Its $12.50pp per night and $7.50 per child per night so for a couple its $25 per night for an unpowered site. We thinks its a little steep but you can see why everyone raves about it.

We stuck it out and went fishing off the jetty for squid and only got lucky once but we had both had enough as it was freezing cold and Windy.

The second time we arrived which was recently we had amazing weather which we were so grateful for. Kurt was on that Jetty each day and Night successfully catching squid which we cooked for dinner and watched the sun set. While you stay at Rapid Bay you can literally just chill out and enjoy the scenery or you can explore the towns close by for the day.

Second Valley

This little town is situated on another Bay right next to Rapid bay With Rolling Hills and turquoise Water. We did a day trip here and walked around the beach and ventured up the hills to get a better view. These Hills were some of my fav and the pretty Grass makes for amazing pictures.

Victor Harbour

We just did a day trip here as we were passing through. There is plenty of parking in town for cars and caravans so you can park up and explore the town on foot.

We went straight down to the famous Jetty where a horse and Carriage takes you across to Granite Island. Its $15 return for an adult so being on a budget we decided to walk it and what was even better, it was a perfect day for it.

The walk across to the island took about 20 minutes one way and you are told that you might be able to see penguins over on the island if its the right time.

The town has so many cute boutique shops and history in the town you could spend hours exploring.
