The Ultimate Gold Coast Hotel Stay!

The last time we stayed in an actual hotel was 5 years ago in Japan so this was quite a refreshing reminder of how good the resort life can be. Who doesn't like swim up bars, In room service and buffet breakfasts not to mention the resort also being situated right on the beach so you get the best of both worlds.

The year of 2022 has been another strange start to the year with Covid restrictions ever changing, so having a mini getaway so close to home was the best idea. The one thing I miss the most about travelling full time is waking up to go see a sunrise, especially when it was so much easier when we were parked up on the beach or in an epic location rather than living in suburbs and doing everyday life. The first morning i woke up at 4am as I wanted to get some nice sunrise pictures down by the beach and i am so glad i dragged myself out of bed..... it was the most epic beautiful morning we have had in a long time.

After spending time getting some amazing shots that i now class as some of my favourites, i headed back to the resort, only a few steps away to go and grab some breakfast at the buffet breaky that was included in the room booking.

This breakfast did not disappoint, with cafe barista coffee on arrival and the biggest selection to choose from it was so hard to choose what to eat.

The hotel was overall busy but it was the best time first thing in the morning to walk around and explore the resort as everyone is still asleep and you can even go for a quick dip before Breakfast. I can't say we have ever really just hung around a resort and relaxed using all the amenities apart from our all inclusive resort in Mexico so this was nice to actually just stay and relax as much as we could.

For lunch you can choose from the many restaurants and snack bars or you could do what I did as I was working back at the room........ and order room service! i don't know what it is but ordering room service makes you feel so rich and luxurious lol I went for the Cesar Salad and I will have to say it has to be the best cesar salad I have had! once I was done I popped the tray outside and all your dishes just get done (wish that was the way at home lol )

The below are some points that i really loved about the Sheraton Hotel:

- Cocktail Making kits in your mini bar

- Chilled /Sparkling water taps around the resort to fill up your water bottles so there is no plastic. if you forgot a water bottle you can buy one from your room for $5

- Towels are provided down by the pool so you don't have to pack them.

- Most bookings come with parking included

- Turn down Service - like who doesn't love chocolates on your pillows before bed!

- Spa bath in the room was a awesome touch

- The resort overall was so clean and well maintained so it made for taking pics and enjoying the stay just that little bit more

- the biggest highlight which I mentioned at the beginning is, its situated right on the beach so you can have the best of both worlds and enjoy a morning or afternoon beach walk, or enjoy a swim in the patrolled beach right out front.

This year it's a really big goal to not only get away and camp but to also experience other methods of travel and accommodation and I think this has given us a nice start to ticking off some of our goals and definitely something we will be doing again in the future.

We hope that we were able to give you a little more inspiration to get out and experience travel on a different side and relax a little more and let someone else do the cooking and cleaning for you without roughing it in the wild!
